I have this thing for Shoes!
Hello All,
So anyone who follows us, Knows that we love a good pair of shoes.
Taking pictures of them and posting to social media channels like Instagram was one of the biggest trends for last year and is only set to get bigger.
So what does this mean for shoe retailers?
The past few weeks I have noticed that shoe retailers seem to be stuck….
As fashion, home & lifestyle and the beauty sector bound forward with new innovative ideas for the showcasing their products, The generic showcasing 52 styles of shoes in one place still seems to be the method of choice.
Lets think about these points below:
- People shop at eyelevel – not from the ground, this is just fact.
- Repetitive VM is the BEST way to sell any product, just look at Primark, anthropology and ikea…One area that attributes to their success is Repetitive VM.
- Negative space is a good thing!! Having product and no break line of empty space is really overwhelming for people.
- Communication – Tell a storey about the product, why do I need it? How will it make my life better.
- Link to your marketing, shoes and social media are a match made in sales heaven.
Shopping as we all know is an emotional thing.
The more you showcase your products as something people need, the better.
Below are some Visual Inspirations.

Nike – Using good Height variations and telling us something about the shoe!

The shoe carousal – Height, Fun and Some negative space.

Repeat. Repeat.

Impact – Colour Blocking – Repetitive VM.
